The Big Gig weekend is a family event, with 3 separate concerts held over 3 days, at the Royal Bath and West showground.
The Royal Bath and West Showground is home to a host of events throughout the year, including it’s main 4 day show, in which it attracts crowds of over 100,000 people. The Big Gig Weekend will utilize the outdoor arena which is located a the centre of the site, and offers ample space for the expected audience of 8,000 people per day, so tickets are on a first come first served basis.
For those that are attending the event, there is no camping facility, so for places to stay please contact www.somerset-accommodation.co.uk The doors open in the afternoon from 3pm onwards, execpt for Katherine Jenkins, when the doors open at 6pm. There are lots of things to keep you and any children occupied for the afternoon and the evening. There are lots of stalls selling merchandise, as well as plenty of food stalls. We also will be having a large Fair with rides and stalls, as well as many more attractions for the weekend to be announced.
The area within the arena is grassed, so you are more then welcome to bring your own seating, as we encourage the day to be a picnic event. We do have a certain amount of exclusive VIP grandstand seats, that are priced at £60.
- Tables and chairs are permitted however tents, awnings and gazebos are not.
- No pets or animals (with the exception of guide dogs) are permitted.
- The site is an outdoor arena, please bring along suitable clothing.
- Naked flames are not permitted in the concert arena. This includes barbeques.
- No alcohol may be brought onto the site, although there will be fully licenced bars, food and drink concessions available and open during the whole event.
- We operate a 'ZERO TOLORENCE' policy on illegal drugs.
- There are pathways to the concert arena, however, ground can be uneven in areas. Please take care.
- Please be aware there is a 10 minutes walk from the entrance to the main concert arena.
The 3 headline acts including James Morrison on the Friday, Boyzone on the Saturday and Katherine Jenkins on the Sunday are all performing their full live sets.
We will be announcing over the next couple of weeks, Special Guests acts as part of the full programme. Music will start around 5pm on the 25th and 26th and around 6.30pm on the 27th and go onto around 10:30 pm. For 25th and 26th, main artists will be on stage from around 8.30pm except for the 27th where gates will open from 6pm onwards, and Katherine Jenkins will be performing from
7:30pm onwards.
Celebrity presenters will be on stage every evening acting as your compare.
